Hello 3M students, parents & visitors,
I’ve finally made it to our class blog and will now be using it as a means of communication and a broadcast of our level and class events. For those of you that I haven’t met, my name is Adrienne Vanthuyne, and I have taken over from Brooke Mason until the end of the school year. I am French Canadian, but have lived in Australia for the last 3 years. Please feel free to drop in and say “Hello” or have a quick chat- my door is always open for any questions or concerns.
What’s new in Maths?
For the last couple of weeks we have been studying multipication tables of 2, 3, 5, and 10. It’s very important that all children practice their tables as this is an important building block in their maths career. They will be required to know all of their times tables in future years to progress onto 2, 3 and 4 digit multipication operations.
What’s new in English?
We have just finished reading George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. This captivating silly story involves a cheeky and creative boy who endeavors to create a magicial recipe to change the temperment of his mean grandma. As a writing activity, students have created their own Marvellous Medicines and we will be displaying them in our classroom windows for all to see. Please feel free to come and take a look! I will be attaching a couple of the most ‘revolting recipes’ to our blog.
Stay tuned for literacy & numeracy week updates next week and a selection of our past & present science experiments in our current unit of Solids, Liquids and Gases.
Keep in touch,
Mrs. V

Hello everyone and welcome to our blog page :0)
We have lots of fun in 3M, at the moment we are learning about Force so we are making paper planes. We have just had our class fly off and William won. His plane flew 17.8 m, we were very impressed. We are now writing up our instructions on how to make the planes.
In a few weeks time we are having an incursion and we will be building planes out of wood. We can’t wait….
